Ayurvedic frozen skincare cubes

I make these skincare ice cubes every summer. They are my go-to for when I need to calm, cool, and add hydration back to my face. The ice cube format adds a toning and tightening effect.

This recipe/formulation only uses two ingredients but they happen to be two of the best ingredients used in Ayurvedic skincare for thousands of years.

Rose’s cooling qualities and fragrance immediately calms the mind, softens the body and soothes the skin. Aloe vera is a natural humectant. A humectant is an ingredient that attracts and holds water. Think of it as a tiny sponge that helps draw moisture into the outer layers of the skin and helps keep it there.

(Makes 15, 1 inch ice cubes)

Ingredients

1 cup organic rose water

2 tbsp aloe vera

Instructions

  1. Add ingredients to a blender, blend for 2-3 seconds.

  2. Pour liquid into ice cube molds.

  3. Place molds in the freezer.

  4. Use one cube at a time. Apply generously over your face. Allow to dry. Use anytime throughout your day when you feel overheated, you’ve had sun exposure or right after you shower before your skincare routine.
